This summer we got season passes to a local attraction, African Lion Safari. Their main attraction is a drive-thru safari, but they also have many great animal shows and an awesome splash pad. Here are some pictures of our safari adventures this summer!
| We all got Season Pass Holder cards - even Jacob! |
| Splash Pad fun! |
| A boat safari! |
| A train safari! |
Laura loved to walk along these rocks. They were also right beside the train and the ice cream stand - two of her favourite things at safari! |
| A bus safari - You can either pay $5/pp to ride the bus or drive thru with your own vehicle. We took the bus and Laura had as much fun on the bus as she did looking at the animals. In this picture we are looking at the lions. |
| "Look Mom!" |
| This giraffe came right up to our bus and tried to lick it! |
| The ball pit - also a "must do" every time we went to safari. |
| Arms full of love! |
| Silly Baboon! Yes, if you drive thru, you too might have a baboon on your car...of course, that baboon may also rip off your windshield wipers! Laura thought the Baboons on the cars was hilarious. Even more funny was a Baboon on top of the bus! |
| These striped pick-up trucks were throughout the safari to watch out for the animals and to control the people. |
| "Look Mom - a rhinoceros!" |
| Laura loved the train and so we rode on it many, many times (*it was free). |
| One hot and tired baby! |
| It was very hot at Safari, so we got an ice cream/frozen yogurt almost every time we went. This time Ken thought he could share Laura's (the cones were quite large), but when he tried to take a lick Laura replied "Get your own Dad!!" Poor Daddy didn't get ice cream that day, as Mommy also didn't want to share! |
| More splash pad fun. Behind Ken are the "big kid" water slides. Although I 'm sure Laura would have done just fine on the slides, she wasn't quite tall enough on their charts this summer (we measured every time we went). There's always next summer! |
